The 674th EuroMillions game was a Superdraw. The winning numbers drawn in the EuroMillions Superdraw 7th March 2014 were 5, 10, 38, 40 and 41, while the Lucky Stars were 1 and 8. By matching five numbers and a single Lucky Star six other players won an impressive £316,429.80 (€453,509.31).
However, the £82,990,000 (€100,000,000) jackpot rolled over twice before being won the following week by a single UK ticket holder who took home an impressive £107.9 million.
The aptly named Neil Trotter was the lucky winner, and had apparently told staff at his father’s office on Friday lunchtime before the EuroMillions results, “this time tomorrow” he would be a multi-millionaire.
The car mechanic’s father Mr Trotter Snr, is a director of a cat litter company worth more than £2million with a substantial property in south London and sports cars on the drive.
Neil is a self-confessed motor racing fanatic having taken part for many years in Hot Rod and Stock Hatch racing, and most recently competed in the BMW Compact Cup. His heart is now set on competing in the high profile British Touring Car Championship.
Neil chose to play EuroMillions with the numbers 6, 24, 25, 27 and 30, with lucky stars 5 and 9 to win his fortune. It made him the first UK jackpot winner of 2014 and the 745th wealthiest person in the UK. He and girlfriend Nicky Ottaway plan to buy a new home with plenty of garage space and stables.
