It has been a few months since a syndicate has won the National Lottery. According to the Islington Gazette, the latest is a group of travel agents who are celebrating a EuroMillions lottery win of £ 53,860.40.

They successfully matched 5 numbers on the draw which took place on Friday 31st August. The syndicate comprises 16 members who include Heidi Basut, Jenny Wang, Olga Dobos, Viktoria Lewis, Eduardo Avila, Laura Copraro, Marc Dumbleton, Joanne Addison and Maria Alexova.

The lucky lottery winners work for Kuoni Destination Management GTA on Goswell Road in Finsbury, London and bag just over £3,300 each from the Euromillions payout. The leader of the syndicate, Heidi Basut told the Gazette: “Luckily one of the syndicate members bought the ticket just before running off to the airport to catch a flight. We all found out on Tuesday that we had won when we checked online whilst in the office and, as the whole syndicate sit very close to each other, we all screamed the office down.

However, our colleague who bought the ticket didn’t know about the win until Wednesday, when we managed to contact them as they relaxed in the sunshine on holiday. As you can imagine, we are so glad they did have the time to buy the ticket that day.

We will definitely be buying them a beer when they’re back.” Earlier this year 2 syndicates both struck it rich on the National Lottery. A Glasgow syndicate won the lottery jackpot of £2.1 million but chose to remain anonymous, and a Poole syndicate which were more than happy to go public with their win of £70k.

Did you know? Now it is even easier to purchase your EuroMillions lottery tickets online at So there is no excuse not to try your luck.
