The EuroMillions superdraw, originally planned for Friday, June 6th, has been postponed due to the jackpot total surpassing the proposed superdraw amount.
You would usually expect to be met with disappointment at the postponement of a special event; however the rescheduling of the EuroMillions superdraw is met with jubilation as players now know that they have several large jackpots to look forward to. Friday’s EuroMillions draw was going to guarantee a top prize of €100 million, or £80 million, regardless of the value of the jackpot in the preceding draw.
However, since the jackpot, worth £71 million, on Tuesday’s draw wasn’t won, it has naturally rolled over to be worth £85 million for the draw on Friday, June 6th. As this is more than the superdraw could have been worth, lottery officials have chosen to postpone the special event for the very first time.
The superdraw will instead take place at a later date when the naturally occurring jackpot is lower, making it an exciting and special event for all. Lottery officials have assured that the money meant for the superdraw will remain in the EuroMillions Reserve Fund and will be set aside until a future promotional draw date is set.
EuroMillions officials have not yet revealed whether the superdraw will be organised for the coming weeks, or whether the lottery will wait for their next planned superdraw. However as the latest updates unfold we’ll wait with baited breath to see how lottery officials plan to move forward.
Although this is the first time that the lottery has had to take the decision to postpone a superdraw; however it is always a possibility due to the unpredictability of the EuroMillions lottery.
The top prize on offer on Friday is the third largest that the European lottery has seen so far since the beginning of this year, and the total has been climbing steadily over the last few weeks. To be in with a chance of becoming a lottery millionaire make sure you get your tickets soon!
