A pair of EuroMillions lottery winners from Wales have described their wish list to lottery officials after claiming £1 million in prizes, and new socks and pants from Asda are at the top of the list.

Stephen Chick, 58, from Pontypool in South Wales, together with his wife Kerri claimed their £1 million EuroMillions winnings after their lucky numbers came up, and they celebrated their win in their local pub with friends, watching Wales take on England in rugby. Mr Chick discovered that his EuroMillions ticket had matched one of the 10 winning UK Millionaire Maker numbers from the EuroMillions draw on January 30th a week after the draw, telling lottery officials that he was too busy to check his ticket.

The truck driver picked his EuroMillions numbers from number plates on the back of other lorries on the country’s motorways, but it wasn’t these numbers which won him his very special prize. The Millionaire Maker numbers are randomly generated raffle numbers printed at the bottom of the ticket underneath the EuroMillions entry.

Despite having won a huge £1 million prize, Mr and Mrs Chick have not splashed out just yet and in fact Mr Chick treated himself by buying new pants and socks from Asda as well as a new shirt. The EuroMillions winners also won a luxury round the world trip along with their £1 million prize and they plan to take Mrs Chick’s father, Dennis who is 81, along with them.

The couple also want to give each of their three sons a lump sum in order to help them get on the property ladder. Mr Chick told lottery officials that when he discovered his EuroMillions win, he took his ticket into his local store to double check and said that when his win was confirmed “I started to cry, I was so overwhelmed.”

Despite the huge jackpot winnings, Mr Chick said he has no plans to quit his day job and loves nothing more than being behind the wheel of his truck. After taking the luxury EuroMillions winner’s holiday, he will be back on the road as usual.
