Lucky Perth Store sells $5m winning Oz Lotto Ticket
If you want to become a lottery millionaire in Australia, then it might just be a good idea to purchase your tickets from Padbury News and Post in Perth. The February 17 Oz Lotto draw produced a $5m winner and that ticket was sold by what has proved to be a very lucky store.
Last year they sold an Australian Powerball ticket that won $16m in the draw held on October 16. The ticket sold at the Padbury News and Post store was one of three that shared the $50m jackpot. In all, nine Division 1 winning Oz Lotto tickets have been sold at the lucky store.
The Oz Lotto win continues a great run for Western Australia as the lucky winner scooped the entire $5m Division 1 national prize pool in the Oz Lotto draw. The winning numbers in the February 17 Oz Lotto draw were: 38, 4, 30, 19, 25 and 2. There hadn’t been a winner of the $5m jackpot since the Oz Lotto draw held on February 3.
Joe Kempster is the owner of Padbury News and Post in Perth and said that he could not believe the news of yet another big lottery ticket being sold from his store. He added that he was unbelievably happy at the news of the Oz Lotto win: “Over 16 years of running the outlet we’ve had nine Division 1 Lotto wins, but two within four months at this value is just incredible,” he said.
The lucky winner of the $5m Oz Lotto jackpot has yet to come forward to claim their prize but Joe admitted that excitement has hit fever pitch among his customers. They’ve all been flocking to his shop to check their Oz Lotto tickets, right from the moment he opened up on Wednesday morning.
The $5m Oz Lotto win is the largest Lotto prize won in Western Australia so far this year. It’s only the middle of February but so far 2015 has seen the Australian state claim a total of 15 Division One Oz Lotto winners.
