THIRD TIME LUCKY AS BRITISH COLUMBIA LOTTO 6/49 PLAYER WINS $21.9 MILLION

A Lotto 6/49 player from British Columbia on the West Coast on Canada has won a huge $21.9 million prize after checking three tickets in a lottery ticket kiosk.Robert Goertzen from Kelowna, British Columbia, visited the lottery ticket kiosk at the Kelowna superstore when it first opened in the morning, and asked the cashier, who sells him his regular ticket package every week after he does his grocery shopping, to check his three tickets from recent Lotto 6/49 draws. The first ticket was scanned and came up that Mr Goertzen had won himself a free play on another Quick Pick ticket. The second time around, the ticket was a loser. But the third time proved to be lucky for the Kelowna man, as he described the ticket scanner, “Boom! The whole thing just lit up,” he said. The store went quiet around him, so he told the story, and it soon became clear that he had matched all of the six required numbers in the most recent Lotto 6/49 lottery game on his quick pick ticket. Mr Goertzen’s third time lucky was a little different from that of a New Jersey lottery player who won three top scratch card prizes in three years. The 44 year old father of one had won on his Lotto 6/49 ticket for last Sunday’s draw, and would be taking home the prize for $21.9 million. Despite being in massive shock, the lottery player still managed to make it to BC Lottery Corporation headquarters in Kamloops on Monday morning to collect his winnings, but he said that he still doesn’t quite believe it.“It hasn’t sunk in yet,” he told lottery officials. “A million dollars - $1,000 in my account is okay, but $21 million. I don’t know anybody that has that.” And of course, he is one of very few lotter players who can say that they have won a jackpot, including recent Lotto 6/49 winners in Canada such as a record $64 million jackpot which was won in October 2015, and an Alberta woman who took home $2 million with the Lotto 6/49 at the end of last year. However, despite his shock, Mr Goertzen has started making plans for his winnings, and similarly to Marilyn Pidlaoan’s plans after her $18 million Lotto 6/49 win earlier this year, he said that he will be buying a new truck and a fifth wheeler for himself, as well as a new jeep for his girlfriend. He’s also going to help out his parents with their retirement, pay upfront for his eight year old daughter’s education and build a new house. You too could be the next big winner… play online with us at Lottery24.com.
