EUROMILLIONS SYNDICATE’S WINNING TICKET IS IN A PLANT POT

A EuroMillions syndicate from the north east of England have won more than £1 million after their winning ticket was stashed away in a plant pot and forgotten about.Steven Raw, from Saltburn near Darlington, England, took his syndicate’s EuroMillions ticket home and put it in an empty plant pot in his kitchen for safe keeping, promptly forgetting about it for several weeks. Lots of lottery winners have stored their tickets in unusual places, such as an Irish EuroMillions Plus winner who found her winning ticket in the pantry, and a Mega Millions winner of $1m found his winning ticket amongst a pile of old mail. When Mr Raw finally took the ticket to be checked at his local shop, he told lottery officials that he was gobsmacked to find out his syndicate had won more than £1 million in a recent EuroMillions drawing. An Irish Lotto winner couldn’t believe it when she found a two-week-old ticket in her handbag and it was worth £120,000.Just last week we told you about a syndicate from Lincolnshire who won £1 million on the EuroMillions, and now the most recent syndicate – which calls itself The Queen’s Syndicate because the members all either work or drink at The Queen’s Hotel – got together on Friday, May 19, when Mr Raw joined them to celebrate their good fortune. The group will share the £1,093,805 EuroMillions prize between them, with each member’s fortune equalling £156,257.The group of life-long friends have been playing the lottery together for years, and Mr Raw said that they have won a few small prizes in the past, but never anything this substantial – “We all hoped one day we would win the million.” An Irish syndicate echoed the same thoughts after they won €381,863 on the EuroMillions and said that they never expected to win anything so much.Mr Raw said that he first person he told after he realised they’d won was his friend and syndicate organiser, Rachel Henderson, who told lottery officials that’s the money will serve to make life easier for every group member. “I haven’t bought anything yet but I’ve already spent it a million times over in my head,” she said. Now that the money is in the bank, the syndicate revealed that a huge party for family and friends would be organised, as the group want to celebrate their good fortune in style. “It is just wonderful to think that all of us are so close – we are all like family.”Purchase your lottery tickets online at Lottery24.com, to be in with a chance of becoming next big winner!
