A Lotto Max winner from Bolton in Ontario, Canada, told lottery officials that he’s planning a trip to Australia after finding himself $1 million richer.Anthony Evangelista won his $1 million on the Lotto Max Maxmillions on December 22nd, and he said it’s been a long time coming. “I’ve been playing the lottery since I moved to Bolton about 11 years ago,” the lottery winner told Lotto Max official in Toronto, continuing to say that he bought a ticket for the December 22nd draw because he noticed that the jackpot was high. “I noticed that there was a big jackpot and the prize amount kept climbing, so I figured I better buy some tickets!” The Bolton winner is not far away from where another Canadian recently won the Lotto Max jackpot. The Lotto Max winner, who retired from his job as a school principal, bought his winning ticket from a Zehrs supermarket in Bolton, and checked his tickets after the draw took place. The first two tickets won him two dollars, and then the third one froze the ticket machine, flashing up the words “Big Winner”. A nursery supervisor from Oregon in the USA also found out about her $1 million Powerball win on a self-checking machine.Mr Evangelista said that he then contacted a member of staff, who “was in just as much shock as he was,” and gave him a validation slip, before word got around the store. The Lotto Max winner said that before he knew it he was shaking hands with other customers and the store manager who wanted to congratulate him. A man from Workington in England also found out about his £1 million UK Lotto prize while in a shop full of people. He then went back home and shared the good news with his wife, who began to cry tears of joy, just like a Lotto Max winner from North Bay, Ontario. “I am feeling very grateful to be able to share this prize with my family because it means more than just spending it on myself,” the Lotto Max winner said. He plans to share some of the winnings with his two sons, and then take his wife of 43 years and both children on a trip to Australia. A People’s Postcode Lottery winner from Kirkcaldy in Scotland also planned a trip to Australia.Would you like to travel somewhere with your lottery win?
