A People’s Postcode Lottery player from Essex in England has revealed that her £30,000 street prize will go towards returning to Hong Kong where she lived for three years.
Some of our most recent People’s Postcode Lottery winners were four residents from a street in the Durham Dales who shared a combined £120,000 thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery street prize. Catherine Brunner, 49, is from Stanway in Essex but lived in Hong Kong with her husband, Nick, for three years, and even gave birth to her first daughter there. Her postcode CO3 8BJ was announced as Saturday’s People’s Postcode Lottery street winner, and she received a cheque on her doorstep worth £30,000. Recently we told you about a man from Essex who celebrated his football team’s big win by winning £9 million on a UK Lotto ticket.
“It would be amazing to go on a family holiday to Hong Kong, to see old friends and show our children the places we tell them stories about,” Mrs Brunner told People’s Postcode Lottery officials when asked how she will be spending her winnings. She continued: “It’s something that would never have been possible before.” One of the People’s Postcode Lottery winners from Dorset in England won £10,000 in holiday vouchers and £4,000 in spending money and couldn’t wait to travel the globe.
The mother of three daughters said that her children have also been giving her plenty of ideas as to how they would like her to spend her £30,000 People’s Postcode Lottery windfall. The lucky Essex winner, who works at a local secondary school, received her cheque from People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador and TV personality Jeff Brazier, who said: “Getting to hand big cheque to lovely winners like Catherine is the best thing about my job and I couldn’t be more thrilled for her.” A couple from Essex who won £3 million on a National Lottery scratch card two years ago recently revealed that they had mowed a picture of a bottle of champagne into their garden lawn to continue celebrating their good fortune.
The People’s Postcode Lottery raises money for charities and good causes around the world, and at least 32% of the revenue gained from ever ticket sold goes towards its philanthropic work. In fact, the lottery recently revealed that there will be changes to the business to raise even more money for charity than it already does.
