There’s a new Irish National Lottery millionaire as they have given away a massive €6.5 million jackpot.
The winning ticket matched numbers 9, 15, 17, 24, 42 and 43 plus the bonus number 37 in the Irish Lotto draw on Saturday, December 8, and the winning ticket was purchased online.
The winner is part of a small family syndicate and had only just topped up his online account. “I opened the National Lottery App just half an hour before Saturday’s Lotto Draw” the winner explained before selecting a Quick Pick.
Elsewhere in Ireland there was also a drawing of the Irish Lotto Plus 1 draw, with a jackpot worth €1 million. Numbers drawn were 1, 11, 18, 24, 36, 37 and 6, but unfortunately no Irish millionaires were made in that drawing.
There was also an Irish Lotto Plus 2 drawing, with numbers 1, 15, 18, 21, 46, 47 and 6, but nobody won the €250,000 jackpot either.
A man from Limerick has also claimed a €250,000 prize this week. He won big on the Lotto Plus 2 drawing on Saturday December 1. The winner said that his first plan after scooping the big prize was to donate a portion of his winnings to a local children’s charity. After that he was going to buy a new car for his girlfriend.
The winner revealed that when he saw he was a lottery winner he was hoping that he scooped the jackpot, but was still delighted with his €250,000 win. “I got a message to say congratulations I had won a big prize and to contact the National Lottery. I was convinced I had won the jackpot and when I checked the results, I saw it was the Lotto Plus 2,” he exclaimed, “but it is still a terrific win!”
