Powerball Winner Jane Jabert wins $15 million and dances for joy!

Louisiana’s latest Powerball Winner Jane Jabert was so delighted with her new found millions that she couldn’t help but dance for joy just before the presentation ceremony at Lottery HQ. Arriving at the ceremony in a stretch Hummer limousine with 10 friends and family members, the new Powerball Lottery jackpot winner was clearly delighted and choose to express that with some spontaneous dance moves on the pavement! The winning numbers for the Powerball results draw held on September 30th 2006 were 6-15-30-32-39 with the Powerball of 5.

Hobbies

The 67-year-old lady from Cut Off held the sole winning ticket of the $15 million Louisiana Powerball jackpot and remarked that playing the lottery and dancing were her two favourite hobbies. She prefers to choose her own numbers regularly, sometimes using birthdays or other specific numbers that gave her a “good feeling.” She has never used the quick pick facility to play Powerball.

Lottery Ticket

As she works as a live-in carer for an elderly lady in a nearby town, Jane often had difficulty getting out to buy her Powerball tickets in time. Luckily for her she also has a close friendship of 50 years with the family that owns and operates Debra's Movie World. They are a lottery retailer and would frequently process her numbers and have the Powerball tickets delivered to her. The dancing millionaire said it was a lucky hunch that ensured she won. Although she had been playing a set of five numbers over the past few months, she changed her mind about the sixth number at the last minute - the crucial Powerball number which was revealed during the Louisiana lottery results.

Powerball Winner Jane Jabert's Plans

“I can dance my life away now!” exclaimed Jane, who said her new millionaire status still doesn't seem real. “I'm still just Jane.” With her Powerball prize money, she said she plans to pay off her debts, help her family and give some to charity. Although she's always dreamed of driving a pink Cadillac, she said she is reluctant about making the purchase. “They use a lot of petrol, don't they?” she remarked.
Barry and Barbara Salzman won $15 million in 2007 and also had charity high on their list of priorities.

Lump sum payment

The Powerball jackpot is advertised as a 30-installment annuity, but winners can opt to receive the cash value if they choose. Jane chose the lump sum jackpot payment option, which was just over $7 million or $5 million after Louisiana lottery tax.
