$1 million Lotto Max Claims Winnings Dressed as Elvis

What would you wear when claiming a big lottery prize? Well, Peter Woloshyn from Spruce Grove in Alberta, Canada claimed his $1 million Lotto Max while resembling Elvis Presley.

He turned up wearing a white Elvis Presley-style jumpsuit and a red scarf. We’re not sure if he was also wearing blue suede shoes.

Recalling the moment he discovered his win, he admits to having a suspicious mind. He initially thought he’d only won $10,000 but a cashier confirmed it was $1 million.

“I was pretty calm at the time,” the lottery win confirmed, not at all shook up. There was definitely a little less conversation. He was more nervous about keeping his ticket safe.

Why not?

He had no problems doing that, though might if he’d placed it in the ghetto. That’s unlike  the Scottish couple that lost their winning Lotto ticket.

When it came to claiming his winnings, he asked if he had to dress up. The lottery organisers probably didn’t expect him to turn up wearing an Elvis costume. When asked why he did, his reply was “Why not?”

A recent $167.3 millionPowerball jackpot winner ended up in prison  a week after his win. A case of Jailhouse Rock!

Plans for his winnings include sharing it with his family and saving the remainder for his retirement. He certainly won’t be having a blue Christmas.

No screaming

Bassam Mokdad from Scarborough in Ontario, Canada wanted to scream when discovering his $500,000 Instant Gold Crown win. That’s not quite what happened though.
He was so shocked at his win that he asked a cashier what was going on. When the win was confirmed, he “wanted to scream” but there were people around so “I stayed quiet.” He added: “Inside, I was so happy!”
The father-of-four got in touch with his wife and at first she didn’t believe him. Eventually she believed the great news.

He described his win as “surreal” and “life changing” for both himself and his family. He added: “I wish everyone could experience this feeling.”
