The football season may be over in Scotland but Partick Thistle have received some great news. £161m EuroMillions winners Colin and Christine Weir have donated another £500,000 to the club to secure the long-term future of the club's youth set-up.Last year the couple donated some of their £161m EuroMillions winnings to help make the club debt-free. They had already donated £750,000 to the club to create the Thistle Weir Youth Academy and this latest donation will ensure the project can continue for at least another five years. The club came 9th in the Scottish Premiership this season. Their chairman, David Beattie commented: “The development across the Thistle Weir Youth Academy in recent years has been nothing short of phenomenal.
