$1M CANADIAN LOTTO 6/49 WINNERS SPLASH OUT ON RICE KRISPIES

Caroline and Clayton Leyte from Bishop’s Fall in central Newfoundland, Canada, have no retirement plans despite winning $1m in the April 11 Lotto 6/49 Guaranteed Millionaire draw. Their first purchase after becoming millionaires was a box of Rice Krispies!Their winning Lotto 6/49 ticket was purchased from the Shoppers Drug Mart in Botwood. On Thursday we told you about Steven Van Hecke whose lottery win came after he found out about a soda sale, for Caroline it was a special offer on Diet Pepsi. The lottery winner admits "I'm a Diet Pepsi addict, you could say."When it came to paying though, she realized that she didn't have any cash on her. Not wanting to use her Visa card to pay a $10 bill Leyte purchased some Lotto 6/49 tickets too. When Clayton read out the Lotto 6/49 results to his wife, she didn't believe what he was saying. "I thought he was tormenting me, repeating the same number. I actually asked him to stop teasing, but when I looked at him I knew he wasn't teasing."They still needed some confirmation and her husband suggested they go back to the Shoppers Drug Mart. Caroline wasn't so sure saying "I'm not going into a store and looking like a fool." As they didn't have any Rice Krispies for their breakfast that gave them a reason to go shopping again and check to see if they were Lotto 6/49 millionaires at the same time. Caroline joked: "I guess our first purchase with the money was a box of Rice Krispies."An Atlantic Lottery representative confirmed their Lotto 6/49 win but it still wasn't sinking in. "We walked back to our home, neither of us said very much, but every few minutes, one of us would laugh or smile at the fact that it really was us."The winners are both teachers but have no plans to retire yet. The lucky couple plan on letting their lottery winning "work for us". They also plan on taking their daughter and three-year-old grandson to Disney in Florida. What would you do with a millionaire lottery prize? Play online at Lottery24.com to discover it.
