SOUTH CAROLINA RESIDENT FINALLY WINS POWERBALL AFTER 7 YEARS OF SAME NUMBERS

A lottery player from the Sumter County area of South Carolina has won $2 million on the Powerball after playing the same numbers for 7 years.

The lottery player, who remained anonymous after claiming their big Powerball prize, has been playing numbers 4, 6, 16, 30, and 56 for the last 7 years as they were a combination of birthdays and anniversaries. A Powerball winner from North Carolina had been using the same numbers for 32 years before winning $150,000.The SC winner told Powerball officials that he bought his most recent ticket, for the drawing on Saturday, November 11th, just before going out of town. A EuroMillions winner from England won her £1 million while on holiday.

In fact, the lucky winner said that he often buys Powerball tickets just before going on vacation in the hopes that it will make the trip more exciting, and that is certainly what happened this month. A few days after the drawing took place, the South Carolina man found out that his ticket had matched the first five numbers of the Powerball drawing, missing the Powerball numbers of 18, and won $2 million.

Just like a couple from South Carolina who won $1 million on the Powerball a few years ago, despite the hefty sum about to be deposited into his bank account, the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that he doesn’t plan to change anything drastically. “I’m not going to do anything crazy,” he said, adding that instead he hopes that the Powerball prize will help him to live his life more easily. A syndicate from England who won on the UK Lotto also said they wouldn’t change their lives a lot after winning.

“I don’t have my eyes on a new Camaro or anything. I plan t purchase a house and live without worrying about a mortgage.” The winning ticket was purchased at a Sunoco gas station on Broad Street in Sumter, a store that sold a winning $200,000 lottery ticket two years ago, and a $1 million winner before that. The Sumter County winner didn’t say if he planned to carry on playing, but he could still have the chance to win again with the same numbers, just like a Connecticut lottery winner did earlier this year.
