A player from Washington D.C. known only as ‘Lucky Lady’ was out shopping in Oxon Hill, Maryland, USA, and bought a 100X the Cash scratch card and won $50,000.
Her winning 100X the Cash scratch card was purchased from the Giant #341 in Oxon Hill, where she’d gone to get some butter, milk and eggs. Then she saw the lottery vending machine and as no one was using it, thought to herself, ‘Why not!’ so decided to buy a ticket.
Jorge Solis-Cortes from South Los Angeles in California, USA, was running errands and then also bought an $866,060 winning Powerball ticket.
The lucky 100X the Cash scratch card player put her groceries in the car and then scratched off her ticket. When she saw a matching number, she realized that her scratch card had won $50 and said, ‘All right, I made my gas money back!’ It got a lot better for the ‘Lucky Lady’, as the value of her scratch card rose to $1,000 and eventually her big win rose to $50,000 and she just put her hand on her head in shock and awe. That’s just how Mary Hamilton from Belfast in Northern Ireland felt after winning £12.9m playing EuroMillions.
It’s the latest big win in the state of Maryland. Recently a police officer won $50,000 on a Bonus Match 5 lottery ticket. Also winning a big lottery prize was Brittny Yost from Maryland who won $30,000 on a Loteria scratch card.
The 38-year-old mother drove home and put her winning 100x the Cash scratch card in a secure place until she could claim her prize. This ‘Lucky Lady’ has had some wins in the past playing scratch cards but usually just “$50 here and there, but this is my biggest win to date!” Diana De Gilio from New Zealand was in England when she won a £1m EuroMillions prize.
She plans to use her 100X the Cash scratch card win into savings for her sons’ future and is also planning to get something nice for both of them.
It’s isn’t uncommon for winners to be only identified by nicknames. Another Maryland player was only identified as ‘Beetle Bug’ after his $50,000 win playing the Power 5s game. Another Maryland resident was known by the nickname of the ‘Poetry Princess’ and was lucky enough to win $100,000 on a Your Fortune scratch card.
