€130.2M SUPERENALOTTO JACKPOT WON BY TICKET SOLD IN SICILY

It’s been a long road for players in Italy but finally one lucky ticket sold in the town of Caltanissetta in Sicily was able to win the €130.2m SuperEnalotto jackpot in the draw held on Tuesday April 17.

The winning numbers in Tuesday’s SuperEnalotto draw were 12-23-39-54-72-73 and the Jolly 53. With numbers like that it wasn’t a repeat of the time when a lucky woman known as Alma from Padua won €500,000 playing SuperEnalotto using birthdays and anniversaries.

It’s the first SuperEnalotto jackpot win since the draw held on August 1 of last year, over 100 draws ago, when a ticket sold in Caorle, in the province of Venice, won a €77.7m SuperEnalotto jackpot. The SuperEnalotto jackpot win must be claimed within 90 days of the draw date, so whoever has won this massive prize has until Sunday July 15th to claim their winnings.

The jackpot winning SuperEnalotto ticket was purchased from a small newsstand situated in Via Vitaliano Brancati in Caltanisetta. It’s the latest big win In Sicily after a €21.8 million SuperEnalotto jackpot was won two years ago.

Fabrizio Sunseri, husband of Sabrina Savarino, owner of the newsstand, stated the SuperEnalotto jackpot was won with a €2 ticket. It’s not the first time the newsstand has sold a big winner for the SuperEnalotto draw, having previously seen a ticket they sold win €168,000 by matching five of the main numbers and the Jolly.

The area where the winning SuperEnalotto ticket was sold is described as one of ‘workers and humble people’ so it’s likely the massive SuperEnalotto prize has gone to someone who really needs it. Already as you may expect, news of the SuperEnalotto jackpot win has spread around the city with everyone wondering just who has become a multi-millionaire by winning the SuperEnalotto jackpot.

The €130.2m SuperEnalotto jackpot win is the fifth largest win in SuperEnalotto history. It falls short of the record €177m top prize shared by a syndicate of players in October 2010. That’s followed by the €163.5m SuperEnalotto jackpot won by a ticket sold in Calabria two years ago.

The SuperEnalotto jackpot was the largest available in the world on Tuesday surpassing even the Mega Millions and Powerball draws. Thursday’s SuperEnalotto draw will have a €24m jackpot and then the following evening, players will be chasing another €130m jackpot this time in the EuroMillions Superdraw.
