CARPENTER TO KEEP ON SAWING DESPITE £1M EUROMILLIONS WIN

A carpenter from Lower Quinton near Stratford in Warwickshire, England, won’t be giving up his job despite becoming a lottery millionaire. Aaron Fawden won £1m via the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw on April 10.

The lucky EuroMillions winner might think differently about retiring if lucky enough to win the jackpot in the April 24 draw. Friday’s EuroMillions Superdraw ended in a rollover so the EuroMillions top prize on Tuesday will be £121m.

The single dad of two has had some small wins in the past but this £1m EuroMillions win is “just amazing.” He added that since finding out about his big EuroMillions win he’s been in a daze, commenting “I still can’t really believe it has happened to me, even though the money is in my bank account.”

When the 47-year-old discovered he had become a millionaire playing the EuroMillions lottery, he went to his local pub, The College Arms and bought everyone a drink. But even though he could afford to now, he’s not quitting his job.

The delighted EuroMillions winner is a self-employed carpenter and said that he still went to work for a customer who was shocked to hear of Aaron’s big win. “I didn’t finish the job, but the customer was fine about things, it isn’t every day you win a million pounds.”

Another lottery winner that decided not to stop working was Bob Bohm from Iowa, USA, even though he won $1m playing Mega Millions. That’s not the only thing Bob has in common with Aaron, as his big prize was also won in a draw held on April 10.

Patricia Aldridge from Wexham near Slough in England, still worked a 12-hour shift on Christmas Day even after winning a £1m UK Lotto prize. Another English winner, road sweeper Joseph Whiting won a £4.5mUK Lotto jackpot and then turned up for his 5am shift.

The EuroMillions winner already has plans for his windfall. He wants to buy a new house, just as $2m Powerball winner Michael McNair, from Spencer, North Carolina did after his big win. Fawden also wants to make investments for his children and treat his parents.

His business will also receive a boost as the EuroMillions winner wants to get a new work van and a brand-new Audi SQ5. In the USA, $157m Mega Millions jackpot winner Michael Burkett from Washington, USA, bought an electric car with some of his winnings.
