Donna and David Strickley from Slough In Berkshire, England, had a ticket that won the £21m UK Lotto jackpot in the May 12 draw making them the 5,000th National Lottery millionaires but took a week to find out their win.Donna, 48, was out shopping on May 19 when she remembered the UK Lotto ticket in her handbag that she’d purchased from the Casco Supermarket in Slough on May 11 on her way to the pub with her husband. Instead she looked on the internet and wrongly believed the ticket had won £2m and quickly phoned her husband. David, 58, recalled her calling him "all in a tizz" and he asked her to check again and that revealed a UK Lotto jackpot win of £21,044,592 which is the largest UK Lotto prize won this year.David works as an aircraft re-fueller at Babcock International and told his wife to do some shopping to take her mind off the win and keep the UK Lotto ticket safe. John and Alison Doherty from Scotland hid their £14m UK Lotto ticket in a hurricane lantern folder.Donna is an office manager at MacGregor Industries and the couple have been together for 20 years but only got married in March of this year. It’s the latest big win in Berkshire after Patricia Aldridge, from Wexham near Slough won a £1m UK Lotto prize.The couple want to use some of their UK Lotto winnings to help David’s mother and Donna’s father who both have health problems. The couple also want a beach holiday, a new car and invest some of their win. Donna has been after some new pots and pans and her husband joked he may put an extra "£10 towards them too".There are no plans to move away from Slough as their current home is being redecorated in June.
