Jordon Morgan from Dowlais in Wales is looking forward to working less hours on the railways and investing in a house renovation business after he won £70,000 on a National Lottery Red Hot 7’s Doubler scratchcard.
The railway worker was feeling lucky when he went to his local R & L store and decided to buy a scratchcard. It won him £2 and he decided to re-invest that, so he purchased a National Lottery Red Hot 7’s Doubler scratchcard. His luck was really in this time as it won him £70,000 but at first the 27-year-old believed he’d only won £7,000. The shopkeeper checked his scratchcard and then broke the fantastic news that the National Lottery Red Hot 7’s Doubler scratchcard had won the top prize of £70,000.
Jordon said: “I was totally shocked. My Dad owns the pub opposite the shop and I ran straight in shouting ‘I’ve won seventy grand!’ No one could believe it.”
The lucky National Lottery Red Hot 7’s Doubler scratchcard winner already has several plans for his winnings. He wants to invest some of his £70,000 windfall in property development, working with his uncle to renovate and then sell houses in Merthyr, Wales.
“My uncle has been investing in property for years and I’ve always helped him with some of the renovations,” he said. “However, this is the first time I will be able to put some of my own money in and I’m really excited to see where this could lead.”
The Welshman has already made a few purchases with his National Lottery Red Hot 7’s Doubler scratchcard winnings. He’s bought a second-hand car unlike the brand-new Audio Cabriolet as purchased by £57.97m EuroMillions winners Fred and Lesley Higgins.
“It’s still a bit too much to take in at the moment,” said the 27-year-old. In Canada, Ranjini Cassup was still in shock a month after a $175,000 Lotto Max win. He hopes his National Lottery Red Hot 7’s Doubler scratchcard win will help him cut down his working hours It’s the latest win in Wales after Richard Davies had a £1m EuroMillions win.
Morgan can now afford to go on a family trip to Turkey next month. Canadian Jeremy Scramstad is planning a trip to Disneyland after he won a $1m MaxMillion prize. A retired Irish couple plan the holiday of a lifetime after winning €150,000 playing the Irish Lotto.
