Four residents from a street in Barnard Castle in the Durham Dales have won a combined £120,000 on the People’s Postcode Lottery Street Prize.

The four winners took home £30,000 each when their postcode DL12 8JZ on Dawson Road in Barnard Castle was drawn in the People’s Postcode Lottery Street draw, and one of those winners has more than just his £30,000 prize to celebrate. Scott Docherty, 29, is also about to celebrate his 30th birthday, and it seems that his win has come at just the right time. A lucky player  won $142,857 on the New Zealand Lotto in the same 24 hours as they celebrated a birthday, an engagement, and suffered a house fire.

“There’s just so much that I can do with £30,000 and I’m not quite sure where to begin,” the lucky People’s Postcode Lottery winner said. “I think a holiday with my other half and our little boy seems like a good place to start, I’ll be treating the family and putting some away for a rainy day too.” Another Durham lottery player planned a trip to Thailand after recently winning over £1million on the EuroMillions, while another lottery winner from the North East was Nathan Moody, who wrongly believed he’d won £20,000 on the UK Lotto when he’d been rewarded with a free lucky drip.

Another of the lucky Dawson Road winner was Tony Kent, 41, who was delighted when People’s Postcode Lottery officials greeted him and his wife Nina on his doorstep. “We can do so many things now that we’ve been meaning to get around to, like going on holiday and getting the house decorated – I’m over the moon.” Residents from Cheylesmore in England who shared People’s Postcode Lottery prizes were also planning holidays and new homes after their big wins, while neighbours from Bideford in Devon, England, had plenty of spending plans for their £30,000 People’s Postcode Lottery prizes.

The other two People’s Postcode Lottery winners on Dawson Road were not at home when lottery officials called to let them know of their big prizes, but their £30,000 will be paid into their bank accounts. Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said that she was delighted for all of the winners in Barnard Castle and wished them all the very best time spending their People’s Postcode Lottery windfalls.
