The lucky winner of the Mega Millions claimed it was all down to an act of kindness though.They accepted their record Mega Millions jackpot as a one-off payment of $877,784,124, the largest amount paid to a single winner in US history. The jackpot-winning ticket was sold at a KC Mart in Simpsonville, South Carolina. It’s been revealed that the lucky winner allowed another customer to make a ticket purchase ahead of them. "I think it's great that someone works in that capacity and they're going to be experiencing something that only the majority of us can dream of," the Mayor commented. She added that the whole community is “absolutely thrilled” for the winner.
