$65m Lotto Max Jackpot is “God’s Money”

Jansen Ng from East Gwillimbury in Ontario, Canada, is celebrating after winning a $65 million Lotto Max jackpot. His win came in the July 15 draw but says his windfall is “God’s money.”

His view is that his Lotto Max win has seen him “entrusted” with “taking care” of the money. He now plans to use his winnings to help as many people as possible.

His winning ticket was bought on July 6 from a gas station in Sharon. He’d been out playing Pokemon GO and just managed to get a ticket before the lottery machine shut down for the night. “I believe when it’s time, it’s time. Sometimes all you have to do is just give it a shot, said the Lotto Max winner.

Have I broken the machine?

When he went to check his tickets, he was a bit upset that none were winners. Then, came his last ticket and his life changed forever. The machine started beeping and he was worried he might have broken it. He joked with the cashier: “maybe this is a joke. And I broke it because I won the big jackpot.”

Jansen returned home and checked his ticket again and thought it was a “weird daydream” when being told he’d won $65 million.

Spiritual Guidance

When accepting his cheque, he still hadn’t told his parents of his great win. The first person he’d told of his Lotto Max success was the pastor of his church. Some winners look for financial advice (always a good idea), but the 41-year-old sought spiritual guidance and moral advice.

The former soldier had to retire due to a traumatic brain injury. He’s found having to leave the army very difficult. Now he’s a millionaire but says he won’t change his life. He’ll still cut his own hair and regularly donate blood. His credit cards will be paid off and an electric car purchased.

Helping others is important to him. He plans on setting up some foundations to help those in hardship. This will include fellow veterans and children.
