A Real Lift for £133,333 Postcode Lottery Winner

Lift engineer Nigel from Shoreham-by-Sea in England is going up to the next level after a £133,332 Postcode Lottery prize. The West Sussex resident wasn’t the only winner in the family.

Nigel had just been working on a lift in North London when he received a video call from his father Ken. A real lift was on the way as his father told him they’d both won £133,332 playing the Postcode Lottery,

There were a dozen players who were the biggest winners with each ticket worth £66,666. However, both Ken and Nigel had two tickets so boosted their winnings to £133,332. Recently Kelly from Kent won a £166,666 Postcode Lottery prize.

Going up in the world

The lift engineer knew he’d won a prize but rather than staying home for a presentation decided to go to work instead.

When he was informed by his father that he’d won £133,332 he revealed: “I packed up my tools and drove home." Now his workmates are calling him ‘Millionaire Man’ even though he isn’t one. He joked: “It might not be a million, but to me, that is like winning a million."

The lucky Postcode Lottery player now plans to go on holiday with his two children. A deposit is also going to be put down on a house.

Big Potatoes

His father used to drive a taxi in nearby Brighton but is now retired. It was his son who convinced him to start playing the Postcode Lottery and buying two tickets. He only started playing at the start of last December so hasn’t had long to wait for his win.

The couple moved to Shoreham-by-Sea three years ago. Ken said he felt his new home was “going to be a lucky area for us” but never dreamed it’d be this lucky. He described his winning amount as “big potatoes.”

He says this is the “icing on the cake” after recently celebrating his 70th birthday. A holiday and helping his grandchildren is among his spending plans.
