All the drinks were on the house and I celebrated with my usual tipple, cider and black – about eight pints of it.” Heaven knows what state they were all in when the eight-hour party finally ended at 6am.Nigel didn’t mind at all that the draw had taken place on Friday the 13th: “It was a very lucky for me. I’m not normally very superstitious but when you realise it is Friday the 13th it’s on your mind.
