Belgian Ticket Wins €142 million EuroMillions jackpot

A ticket sold in Belgium won the €142 million(£123 million) EuroMillions jackpot on Tuesday December 6. It’s the third highest  EuroMillions win for a ticket sold in that country.

Not even Belgian detective Hercule Poirot knows who has won the EuroMillions jackpot. Whoever has been lucky enough to become a multi-millionaire has the choice of remaining anonymous or going public with their win.

The jackpot success came in the first draw held since last Friday’s €130 million EuroMillions Superdraw. The lucky ticket was able to match 12-20-25-26-27 and the two Lucky Stars 08 and 12  It’s the first time since the August 20th draw in 2019 that three consecutive numbers have been drawn out. 

Five other tickets won the second-tier prize. One was sold in France and won €160,293.30. The other gave ticket purchasers in the UK an early Christmas present with each winning £112,168.30

The highest EuroMillions win for Belgium was €168 million won by a ticket sold in Schaerbeek in October 2016. 

Lucky December

December has been a lucky month to play the EuroMillions draw. Last year saw the jackpot won on three occasions. Not since 2018 has there been a December without a EuroMillions jackpot being won.

It’s been a bumper year to play EuroMillions. This is the seventh jackpot success of over €100 million in 2022. The last four times the top prize has been won has seen the lucky winner receiving over €100 million with a total of over €625 million being won.

More big jackpots to be won

December could yet see more big lottery winners.  Last night’s SuperEnalotto draw failed to produce a jackpot winner. Thursday will see a record-extending €323.2 million up for grabs. Will it be a ticket bought at Lottery24 that wins the top prize?
