Couple Discover $1.25m TattsLotto Win on Valentine’s Day

Did you have a good Valentine’s Day? A couple from Clyde North in Victoria, Australia did. That’s when their $1.25 million TattsLotto win was confirmed.

The lucky couple were one of 16 division one winners in the TattsLotto draw held on February 11. Their winning ticket wasn’t registered so lottery organisers didn’t know how to contact them.

When the husband did finally make contact on February 14, he wasn’t sure how much had been won. When being told it was $1.25 million, his shocked reply was: “Wow, ok! That’s unbelievable! Woah! I’m shocked.”

He went on to reveal how it wasn’t until February 13 that he checked his TattsLotto ticket on his phone. A message came up telling him to get in touch with The Lott as his ticket was a big winner.

Is it true?

It was in the evening when he did that so he couldn’t immediately call them “I was wondering all night if it was true,” said the puzzled TattsLotto winner.

Sometimes playing numbers based on birthdays and other special dates can pay off. It certainly did for these lucky players. It was already a special 24 hours seeing as it was Valentine’s Day. He joked: “There’s even more to celebrate today! How exciting.”

A new home

Just how will their TattsLotto winnings be spent? The couple used to own their own home in the past. However, due to “unforeseen events” they had to sell it. Now this big win means they can go out and buy a new home.

Their winning TattsLotto ticket was purchased from the Billionaire Lotto Kiosk in the Selandra Rise Shopping Centre in Clyde North. It's owned by Joseph and Mary Annam who shed some happy tears when hearing the news.

It’s not the first that they have sold a division one winning ticket. Mary said that they were thrilled at the news and had “been patiently waiting for another one.”

The store owner added that their customers will be “overjoyed” as they continually ask when another division one winning TattsLotto ticket will be sold.
