Couple Struggle to Believe $7.5 million Oz Lotto Win

A couple from Burwood in Sydney, Australia just could not get to sleep. It wasn’t for a bad reason though, they’d just discovered a $7.5 million win in the September 16 Oz Lotto draw.

Their ticket was registered so the following morning, they received a phone call from the lottery company. The lucky players weren’t just tired but still struggling to believe they had become Oz Lotto millionaires.

“Is it really true?” asked the male half of the couple. He explained how the couple had been “juggling our thoughts” after discovering their win. “We’ve been so nervous that it’s just an error,” he said.

Throughout the night he’d been continually refreshing the Lott App to confirm the win. Even so, the Oz Lotto winner admitted that his wife was “still convinced it’s fake.” Earlier this year,  a woman from Sydney won a $100 million Oz Lotto jackpot.

“It’s life-changing. It’ll set us up completely,” he commented. The sensible winner said that a trip to see a financial advisor is being planned.

“Little shocked”

Also celebrating a big win is a woman from Mullumbimby in Sydney who’s won a $100,000 Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize. Her win came in the September 15 draw and like the Oz Lotto winner, she was “a little shocked” when talking about her win.

After receiving an email suggesting she check her lottery ticket, the $100,000 win was discovered, not that she initially believed it was true.  “I thought, ‘No way, this has to be a scam! There’s no way in the world I won $100,000!’. When chatting to the lottery company, it all began to sink in.  

Her win came from a random purchase. $19 had been won on another game so she decided to try her luck on the Lucky Lotteries draw. A Sydney couple  tried a different game and won a $40 million Oz Lotto jackpot.

Plans for her winnings include going on holiday and also buying a new car. Some treats will be bought for her family and the rest invested.
