Double Success for Mega Millions Player

It’s been a double success for a South Carolina player. He’s been lucky enough to win not one big Mega Millions prize but two in a fortnight. His wins total $3.4 million.

The lucky player has asked to keep their identity secret. We do know that he comes from the Grand Strand area of South Carolina. Both of his Mega Millions wins came from tickets that were purchased from the Murphy USA gas station situated on Kings Road in Myrtle Beach.

He regularly makes purchases from that gas station as it is close to the Walmart store that he does his shopping at. It’s just a short trip across the parking lot but he never expected the luck he’d have buying tickets there after filling up his car.

His first Mega Millions success came on July 16. He was lucky enough on that occasion to win a $40,000 prize after matching four of the main numbers and the Mega Ball. Then he decided to try his luck again and bought a ticket for the July 27draw.

He couldn’t imagine that another big Mega Millions win would come along. It did though and he scooped a $3 million prize. “I couldn't believe it. My family was shocked when I broke the news,” said the lottery millionaire.

The jackpot in that Mega Millions draw was $153 million but his ticket failed to match the Mega Ball. He’s still pretty happy with his $3.8 million windfall. Surprised at a second win in the space of 11 days, he asked his children: “What are the odds of this happening?”

Well, the odds of his first win were 1 in 931,001 and for his second, 1 in 12.6 million, so he really has been defying the odds.

It’s pretty good news for the Murphy USA retailer. For selling the two winning Mega Millions tickets, they receive a total of $30,400. The next Mega Millions draw is being held this evening and has a $270 million jackpot. Could a third win be on the horizon for this South Carolina player?
