€93.72M SUPERENALOTTO WINNING TICKET SOLD IN MESTRINO

For the first time since last October, Italy’s SuperEnalotto jackpot was won on Saturday 25 February. A lucky ticket sold in Mestrino in the province of Padua scooped the €93.72m jackpot. The town of Mestrino has a population of just over 9,000 people and is just 45km west of Venice. At the time of writing, no one had come forward to claim their SuperEnalotto jackpot. The lucky player was able to match 11-17-40-69-84-85 and the Jolly Number 82. Perhaps the winner will remain anonymous or use a different name, that’s just what happened when ‘Alma’ won a €500,000 SuperEnalotto prize. What we do know is that the winning SuperEnalotto ticket was purchased from a tobacco shop called Moreno Market in Mestrino. It’s owned by Moreno Michielon, 64 and his wife, Anita Piazza, 60 and they have been running it for 40 years. Mr Michielon says he doesn’t know who the winner is but is certain they are a regular customer who lives locally.Moreno was eating a pizza when told that the jackpot winning SuperEnalotto ticket had been sold at his store. He hopes that the SuperEnalotto jackpot winner will remember them and perhaps leave them a small present. That might just happen because Stephen Miller Sr from Maryland, USA, did that after his $10,000 Keno win. In the UK, a £74,900 UK Lotto winner gave £1,000 to the store that sold him his winning ticket.Once the news broke, the celebrations began at the tobacco shop, but without the actual SuperEnalotto jackpot winner. It’s the first time the top prize in the Italian draw has been won since a €163.5m SuperEnalotto jackpot was won last October. The shop owner added that his customers only usually spend small amounts on the SuperEnalotto draw and don’t play systems. His son added that he was surprised that such a large SuperEnalotto winning ticket had been purchased from their shop. He hopes that the massive windfall went to someone who really needs financial help. It’s the first time the region of Veneto has had a SuperEnalotto jackpot winner since 2015. It’s got a long way to catch up with Campania which has produced 19 SuperEnalotto jackpot winners followed by Lazio with 16.The SuperEnalotto lottery has draws every week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The next draw is on Tuesday 28 February with a jackpot of €11.9m.Try your hand at the lottery game and purchase your tickets online at Lottery24.com.
