East Riding Wins Postcode Lottery Again

Nearly 800 people in East Riding in Yorkshire won prizes in the July Postcode Millions draw. 14 of them won $100,000 each with one lucky player winning £200,000.

East Riding appears to be a lucky place to play the Postcode Lottery. Three years ago, 338 residents shared £3 million between them. Some of those previous winners have also been successful again this year.

A faster car please

Among the £100,000 winners was grandmother-of-eight Sally.  The NHS worker is one of those previous winners. Her plans for this latest success include buying “a faster car for starters” and a new settee.

They will join the hot tub purchased with her £4,000 win three years ago. There will of course be treats for her grandchildren and her dogs Mollie and Dollie.

Stephen and his wife Kelly have moved house since the last success. However, the couple kept playing with their old postcode never imagining it would win again. They are currently renovating their new home and this will help with the cost of doing so. Stephen lived in Australia in his youth and now plans a trip there with the Postcode Lottery winnings.

His wife is a student nurse and they only have one wage coming in. That makes their £100,000 win “actually life-changing for us.”

Icing on the cake

Three years ago, Elizabeth and her husband Stuart won £4,254. Now they’ve won £100,000 and Elizabeth says “I can’t believe this has happened again!” This year sees the couple celebrate 40 years of marriage. This win “is just the icing on the cake.”

The couple have just returned from a holiday in Lanzarote. Now they want to head stateside to New York City and Las Vegas. This time though they can take their family with them.

Brenda didn’t move into her house until last December, so this is her first Postcode Lottery win. “Oh my giddy aunt,” said the surprised winner. Plans for her win include a family trip to Kenya, a new car and a cleaner!
