EuroMillions jackpot winner Dolores McNamara has failed to get control of the Childers Road Retail Park in Limerick.McNamara won a €115m EuroMillions jackpot in 2005 and lost out to Irish Life, the largest commercial property owner in Ireland. They have slightly higher assets to play with than the mum-of-six from Garryowen in Limerick totalling €2.5bn and won the €46m bidding war.It was only last week when Ms McNamara, advised by Eddie Hobbs, made an offer above the €44m guide price set by managers Harcourt Life. But her dreams of landing the retail park were dashed by the commercial property giants. In England, $148m EuroMillions winner Adrian Bayford also entered the property market buying several houses in Essex. The EuroMillions winner won her fortune on a €2 Quickpick ticket and already has several other interests in the commercial property scene. Her company Blue Haven, which is run by her son, Gary, recently purchased a smaller business park complex, Newtown Centre, in Annacotty, Co Limerick. That was purchased for just over €2m. The two-storey commercial development earns a rent roll of €250,000.Had McNamara been able to seal the deal for the Childers Road Retail Park, the annual rent would have been €3.22m, with the prospects of rent increases every five years.Other big Irish lottery winners include a couple who scooped €7.384m playing the Irish Lotto. Other big purchases by the EuroMillions jackpot winner have included a 16-bedroom Victorian mansion on the shores of Lough Derg, for €3.5m in 2012. That time she did win a battle fighting off the interest of bidders from across Europe. The former cleaner has also purchased properties for her children in the mid-west of Ireland. In England, £13.5m UK Lotto winner Peter Congdon purchased a home for his daughter.Ms McNamara also has a holiday home in Turkey. Another Irish player, Greg Smyth, bought a luxury house after his Irish Lottery win, while £108m EuroMillions winner Neil Trotter bought a mansion with its own lake. Before her EuroMillions win, the mum-of-six lived in a bungalow in Garryowen.
