Fortuitous Michigan Resident Strikes Gold with $1 Million Super Raffle Prize

A Stroke of Luck in the Wolverine State
The old saying goes, "Fortune favors the brave". But for one Michigan man, fortune favored the curious. Intrigued by an advertisement claiming his local retailer to be the "luckiest store in Michigan", he decided to put that claim to the test and purchased a Super Raffle lottery ticket. As fate would have it, his leap of faith was rewarded handsomely – with a $1 million prize.
A Lucky Purchase at Party World
The lucky Michigander, who preferred to remain anonymous, was already aware of the ongoing sale of tickets for the Michigan Lottery's Super Raffle. He had always been keen on trying his luck for one of the bigger prizes and when he heard about Party World on Alpine Avenue in Comstock Park being hailed as one of the state's luckiest lottery spots, he knew exactly where to buy his ticket.
Speaking about his experience, the 29-year-old said, "I'd heard about the Michigan Lottery's Super Raffle game and was pretty excited about it because of the odds." On the day of the drawing, he received a call from his wife. Tearful and choked with emotion, she managed to stammer out that he had won $1 million on his Super Raffle ticket. Finding it hard to believe her, he asked her to send him a picture of the ticket which he checked himself.
A Heart-Pounding Revelation
His disbelief turned into sheer ecstasy when he realized that his $50 ticket was indeed one of the two winning tickets drawn for the $1 million second-tier prize on Nov. 19, bearing the winning number 049686. "When I saw I really did win $1 million, my heart started pounding!" he exclaimed. The winner intends to turn this unexpected windfall into generational wealth by investing the majority of it.
Upon visiting the Lottery headquarters in Lansing, he opted to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $693,000. Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli applauded the lucky player's faith in the Super Raffle game and Party World's reputation as a reliable lottery lucky spot.
Party World: A Beacon of Luck
Party World has a long-standing reputation for selling some notable lottery prizes in the past. In 2008, it sold the winning ticket for a $57 million Mega Millions jackpot, setting off a chain of fortunate events. Since then, fourteen more prizes worth $10,000 or more have been sold at this store, including four prizes of at least $100,000.
The Michigan Lottery acknowledged Party World's exceptional luck streak saying, "While it's impossible to predict when a retailer may sell a big winner, Party World has been an exceptionally lucky retailer for Michigan Lottery players."
