Luck of the Irish as €250 million EuroMillions Jackpot Won
The long wait is finally over. Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw saw the €250 million EuroMillions jackpot won by a ticket that was bought in Ireland. It’s the first time the top prize has been landed since April 4.
The lucky numbers drawn were: 13-22-23-44-49 and the two Lucky Stars 3 and 5. The amazing success equals the record €250 million jackpot that was won in March by a ticket purchased in Austria.
Record Irish win
This is the largest ever EuroMillions win for Ireland beating the €175,475,380 that won in February 2019. Tuesday’s jackpot win is the first time an Irish ticket has won the top prize since a €30 million win in February 2022.
It now takes the number of EuroMillions jackpot winning tickets sold in the Emerald Isle to 20. Whoever has won the jackpot can afford a fair few emeralds now! Earlier this year an Irish syndicate won a €500,000 EuroMillions prize.
It’s the second time this year that a £200 million plus top prize has been scooped. Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw also saw three tickets win the second-tier prize.
Two of the tickets that matched the five main balls but only one Lucky Star were sold in the UK. Those tickets have won their owner(s) £6,287,001.20. The other ticket was purchased in Luxembourg and won €7,825,661.
“Absolutely thrilled.”
The jackpot is yet to be claimed, perhaps the winner(s) don’t even know they’ve landed the top prize. Cian Murphy is the CEO of the National Lottery in Ireland and said they are “absolutely thrilled to see this incredible and record win for an Irish EuroMillions player.”
The CEO has advised players to “check their ticket and if they are the winner.” It’s best to then sign the back of the ticket and keep it safe. Then they can contact the National Lottery HQ who Mr Murphy said “will guide you through the claims process.”
The next EuroMillions draw is on Friday when the top prize will return to £14 million (£17 million).
