A lucky Dubliner won €500,000 on the EuroMillions and is determined to buy his own home with the winnings. The win came thanks to a EuroMillions Plus ticket after he chose a Quick Pick number combination.

Sitting on a huge prize for several days

His ticket won the top prize, but he didn’t realise for several days. He knew he’d won a prize, but the app told him to call the National Lottery.

He still didn’t realise the magnitude of his good luck

“I just assumed it might have been €2,000 or so which I was obviously delighted with,” the lucky Dubliner said. Several days later he called the National Lottery and had the €500,000 prize confirmed.“I got the shock of my life when I was told that I had won the €500,000.” The winner described it as an “incredible feeling.”

A home of his own and mortgage-free

Now that the winnings are in the bank, he can plan for his fortune. “All I want from this win is a house to call my own,” he said.He explained that being mortgage free will also be a dream come true. “Hopefully I’ll be moving into my dream home in the new few months.” He is going to spend some time looking for the perfect house.He also plans to share some of his windfall with family. “They’ve always been there for me so it’s very important to share this with them.”
