Unfortunately, the way to make jackpots grow bigger is to make it more difficult to win."However the odds of winning one of the lower-tier prizes will not alter, and remain a 1 in 40 chance.There are nine ways to win a prize with Mega Millions, and that includes the lottery jackpot. Lower-tier prizes are fixed amounts that do not fluctuate, regardless of the size of the lotto jackpot. Winning a second-tier prize awards ticket-holders with a $250,000 payout for matching the first five numbers drawn, excluding the Mega Ball.Mega Millions draws will continue to take place every Tuesday and Friday at WSB-TV studios in Atlanta, Georgia despite the changes to the lottery game in the autumn.
