People’s lives changed for the betterThe West Yorkshire town has seen ordinary people’s lives transformed. National Lottery funding has been granted to groups for children, adults and the elderly.[caption id="attachment_12249" align="aligncenter" width="799"] 'Something To Look Forward To' celebrates success at last years National Lottery Awards[/caption]Children’s museum Eureka was granted a huge £2.4 million. That cash injection helped build the museum which is still popular with children aged 0-11. A women’s activity centre was gifted £9,900. Withinfields Primary School received £9,900.
National Lottery awards for special achievementsMany more projects across the town of Halifax received National Lottery funding. Family run charity ‘Something to Look Forward To’ was one of them.The charity supports families affected by cancer. It aims to target financial hardship resulting from cancer diagnoses. Families are awarded gifts and experiences to help lighten the burden.Fiona Coldron is one of the founders of ‘Something to Look Forward To’. Last year she won the National Lottery’s Special Achievement Award. The award recognised her hard work for those less fortunate.
Celebrating 25 years of lottery fundingTo celebrate 25 years of National Lottery Funding more awards will take place this year. Any organisation which has received a grant can apply.The lottery hopes to find the UK’s favourite ever National Lottery funded projects. Prize winners will receive £10,000 in cash. They may also find themselves live on TV at a BBC broadcast ceremony.
