The Australian winners of a $2.73 million TattsLotto jackpot have admitted they are excited about their win but also “nervous.”  The couple from Drysdale in Geelong, south-west Melbourne won the top prize in the April 22 draw.

Their winning TattsLotto ticket wasn’t registered with the lottery. That meant officials had no idea who the jackpot winners were. It was a case of having to wait for the lucky players to contact them and claim their winnings.

That took several days and the shocked winners (who have asked to remain anonymous)  tried to come to terms with their life-changing success..

Surely not us?

The female half of the couple said they’d heard the TattsLotto jackpot winning ticket had been sold in Drysdale. “We didn’t think it could be us,” commented the soon to be millionaire. Finally, their ticket was checked and it was the jackpot winner. “Our lives have changed forever,” said the delighted player.

Their ticket had matched: 04-29-32-34-38-41 to land the jackpot. Two tickets shared the top prize with the other sold in the Australian Capital Territories.

Boring stuff first

Just how will their TattsLotto windfall change their lives? “It will go towards the mortgage, and the other boring stuff!” for starters but no other decisions might be made just yet.

Her husband commented: “We might even sit on it for 12 months, just so we know what we’re definitely doing.” However their win is spent, they do intend to help some of their family and friends and “share the win around.”

Their winning ticket was purchased from the Drysdale Newsagency. It's owned by Pam Gillett who says that she and her staff are “so excited” to hear they sold a division one winning ticket.

Other customers were told the news both in-store and on social media. That caused a fair degree of excitement as customers hoped they might be the lucky winners.

It’s the first division one winning ticket sold at the newsagency since Pam took over running it. . They decided to join in the celebrations and have been putting decorations up.
