Numbers Used for 30 Years Win $5 million Lotto 6/49 Prize

For the last 30 years Denise Bérubé from North Brunswick in Canada has been using the same lottery numbers. Now she’s been to Lottery HQ to collect the $5 million won in the March 26 Lotto 6/49 Classic draw.

The delighted player has been speaking about her fantastic win. Talking about her winning numbers, she said that “each had a significance” for her. Not that she can remember exactly why each of the numbers were initially chosen.

The numbers that made her a Lotto 6/49 millionaire were: 09-13-25-30-45-49.  For this player those numbers include her birthdate, wedding anniversary and the age at which she’d been hoping to retire.  Sharon Galup also waited 30 years before a $1 million Lotto 6/49 win.

The latter didn’t come to fruition but last year the Lotto 6/49 winner did retire and this win will make that extremely enjoyable. Plans for her windfall include going travelling with her husband and sisters. Top of her wish list is a trip to Africa.

Also becoming Lotto 6/49 millionaires have been Steve and Joanne from  who won $1 million.
The husband said he must have scanned their ticket at least eight times but had “still convinced myself we had won $100,000.”  

Then the store clerk checked their ticket and revealed it had actually won $1 million. Steve said he was “frozen with disbelief as tears of joy filled my eyes.”  Another Canadian nearly missed out on his $60 million Lotto 6/49 win.

He quickly got on the phone to his wife who struggled to understand him at first. Joanne initially thought something was wrong and then said ‘Are you joking? Are you sure?’  When later being shown their winning ticket, the tears began to flow.

The next few days were spent in “a haze of bewilderment,” said Steve. Now they are looking forward to a “comfortable retirement.” Their spending plans include home renovations and “visiting some warm, sunny beaches.”
