Off to Work for $10m Oz Lotto Winners

Would you go to work in the morning the night after becoming a lottery millionaire? That’s just what a couple from Sarina in North Queensland in Australia diddespite having won $10 million in the February 15 Oz Lotto draw.

Their entry was the only winning division entry in the Oz Lotto draw. The morning after the numbers were selected, the female half of the couple received a call from The Lott with some amazing news.

When told that she’d won the $10 million Oz Lotto jackpot, it was a total surprise for her. “I haven’t had a chance to look at my ticket yet. I’ve just been getting ready for work,” said the shocked winner.

Then the news began to hit home. ““Oh my god! Holy sh**! That’s amazing. We’re multi-millionaires!” the Oz Lotto winner exclaimed.

Gobsmacked

Her partner was sitting beside her at the time of the phone call. He was “gobsmacked” at what he heard. The win comes after the pair have had a “tough few months.” The winner said she’d always dreamt of winning an Oz Lotto jackpot. However, “you never imagine it actually happening.”

Well, it has and now the couple will see their lives change forever. Despite them being multi-millionaires, they both went to work as they didn’t want to let their work colleagues down. Therefore, calling in sick wasn’t an option, but they planned to “do something nice tonight to celebrate.”

Dream Home

Their Oz Lotto windfall will be used to help others. Her parents will receive some of the winnings so that they can retire earlier than planned.  The couple will also be able to buy their dream home. The win will allow them to “live an amazing life,” she added.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Freechoice Sarina Shop in the Sarina Village Shopping Centre. That’s owned by Miranda Robert who is thrilled that a local customer has won the Oz Lotto jackpot.  “How exciting is that!” said the shop owner.  It’s the second division one ticket the shop has sold in the past year.
