OHIO $143 MILLION MEGA MILLIONS WINNER COMES FORWARD

The winner of a $143 million Mega Millions jackpot has come forward to claim their prize, according to Ohio State Lottery officials.A spokesperson for the lottery said that the winner of the May 4thMega Millions drawing came forward in trust, which means that the winner’s name and other information about them will remain anonymous. A New York Lotto winner recently claimed a $24 million prize anonymously. The winning ticket was sold at Fat Daddy’s RoadDog store on Main Street in Moraine, and for a while there was lots of hubbub around town over who the lucky winner could be, just like a New Zealand town after somebody claimed a $7.3 million NZ Powerball prize.Just a few days after the Mega Millions drawing took place, the Ohio Lottery presented store owners of the Fat daddy’s RoadDog gas station with a cheque worth $100,000 as a reward for selling the winning Mega Millions ticket, and staff said they couldn’t be more excited about their big sale. “I think it’s pretty awesome,” said Crystal Koverman, one of the cashiers at the store who was working when lottery officials called to tell them of their sale.“Somebody in Ohio hit it… it’s been awhile since Ohio even had a winner.” Local residents in Moraine were just as excited as the store, and many hoped that the winner was a local rather than somebody who was just passing through. An Ohio local won a $200 million Mega Millions prize a few years ago but also didn’t reveal their identity as it is common in Ohio.“I think it’s fantastic, and I hope I know them,” said resident Robin Duncan, while local Jennie Curry said: “I just wish it was me.” The store manager at Fat Daddy’s said that when her employee called her with the good news that they’d sold a winning Mega Millions ticket, she almost didn’t believe it.“My response was: ‘OK, are you sure this is real?’ She said, ‘I got his number, you can call him back.’” Neither store owner nor cashier said that they know who the owner of the winning Mega Millions ticket is. A lottery retailer in New Zealand knew who their local Powerball winner was, but kept the news secret. In the next Mega Millions draw on Friday June 15 there is a $161m jackpot on offer, so make sure to get your tickets online at Lottery24.com!
