Seagull Incident Leads to £1 million EuroMillions Win
You have to be very wary of seagulls but apparently they can also be very lucky. A woman from South Wales certainly agrees with that. The Rhondda Cynon Taff resident is thanking one for her recent £1 million EuroMillions success.
Chips
It’s not just that seagulls tend to dive down on you to steal your chips. They are also renowned for ‘doing their business’ on those below. However, for some that happening is considered to be a sign of future good luck.
This EuroMillons winner suffered that fate while out shopping. That led to the regular player deciding to buy an extra ticket for that night’s EuroMillions draw and it won her £1 million. It’s the latest big win in Wales after a £1.2 million Postcode Lottery success.
Speaking about her win, the successful player said that it gives her “financial stability.” A new car and house are going to be purchased with her winnings. And “for that I thank the seagull,” said the delighted winner.
Also just claiming their EuroMillons winnings has been Patrick Monahan from Castlebar in Ireland. He was lucky enough to win €255,000 on May 30 and has his friend to thank for his windfall.
Whim
The veteran hairdresser bought his winning ticket on a whim. Not just that, the purchase was made with just minutes to go before ticket sales ended.
Two tickets were bought, one for himself and the other for his friend who was waiting in the car. He actually gave his friend the opportunity to decide which ticket would be his. “Left hand or right?” he asked his friend, who chose the one on the right.
That was the decision which led to Patrick and not his friend winning €255,000. At first though, he thought his EuroMillions win was only €5,000. There are no grievances though and they both celebrated the win.
Tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot has a top prize of €50 million (£43 million). It’s just been announced that the next EuroMillions Superdraw will take place on September 26.
