SPARE CHANGE IN POCKET LEADS TO £1M EUROMILLIONS WIN

Ivan Brown, 55 and his wife Debbie, 50, from the Morton area of Carlisle in Cumbria, England, became millionaires in the EuroMillions draw held on Friday April 17. The couple won £1m in the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker part of the draw and have already quit their jobs.Their winning EuroMillions ticket was purchased from a Tesco Garage on Warwick Road in Carlisle. Ivan said: "I have played the National Lottery since it started and have won the odd amount but never anything like this, we just can't believe our luck."Ivan wasn't even planning to purchase a ticket for the EuroMillions draw on Friday April 17. However, he had a couple of spare coins in his pocket while he went to the garage to get some petrol. That loose change was used to buy the EuroMillions ticket that won a million pounds. He didn't check the results of the EuroMillions draw until the following morning and although his numbers had failed to win anything, it was a completely different story with the Millionaire Maker code.Ivan immediately called out to his wife and then their daughter, Sarah. As he has a bit of a reputation of being a practical joker it took a while to convince them their EuroMillions ticket really had made them lottery millionaires. The couple decided to keep their big EuroMillions win a secret for a while as their son, Terrence, is training in the RAF and had his passing ceremony last week. The whole family headed down to London to watch the ceremony and finally break their amazing news.Their shopping list includes a season ticket for Carlisle United FC, a luxury family holiday, a new car and home and spoiling their three children, Rachael, 26,Terrence, 22 and Sarah, 18 and two grandchildren Harry, 2 and Ellie, 12 weeks.Mr Brown added: "Things like this don't happen to people like us, it is a life-changing amount and we are so lucky."It's the second big lottery win for the area in recent months. As we previously reported, Robert Bruce, 85, of Penrith won £727,308 in the March 25 UK Lotto draw. The estimated jackpot for next draw on Tuesday April 28 is £10,000,000.
