SUPERMARKET STOP FOR FLOWERS LEAVES QUÉBEC WOMAN A LOTTO MAX MILLIONAIRE

A stop at a local supermarket to buy flowers left a woman from Québec in Eastern Canada a multi-millionaire as she decided to check her Lotto Max ticket at the same time.Less than a year after another Québec player won the $50 million Lotto Max prize, Marie-Claude Turcotte, who is from Sorel-Tracy in the French province of Canada, went to her local supermarket on Saturday afternoon to buy a bunch of flowers, and stopped off at the Loto-Québec ticket checker to validate the ticket she had bought for Friday’s $50 million Lotto Max drawing. “I saw ‘$50 million’ and I thought it was an advertisement,” the multi-million dollar winner told journalists as she claimed her prize at lottery headquarters on Monday, the same place where a Québec syndicate went to claim their $1 million Lotto Max prize from the first ticket they ever bought. In fact, it wasn’t until she checked her ticket with a staff member at the cash register that she could actually believe what she saw. “I felt a little dizzy,” Ms Turcotte said of the moment her $50 million win was confirmed. Actually, the Lotto Max winner felt so disoriented that she left the supermarket without purchasing anything, and had to go back, this time buying an extra bouquet of flowers and some champagne.Once she got home, Ms Turcotte told her husband the good news, but together they decided that they wouldn’t believe anything until it was confirmed by Loto-Québec officials. So they told their children, “We won, but it may not be true.” Her shock echoed that of a group of Rona workers from Montreal who shared a $55 million Lotto Max jackpot, and telling Lotto Max officials that she still doesn’t really believe it, despite posing for photos with a huge cheque for the amount, Ms Turcotte said that she keeps questioning herself and wondering whether it was all a mistake, just like a New York man who won $20 million on the Mega Millions lottery and thought the machine was broken. When asked how she will be spending her Lotto Max winnings now that they are in her bank account, the winner said that she hadn’t really thought about it, but that she will definitely be treating herself and those that are close to her. “We want to make the right choices, we don’t want to hurt anyone, and money can slip through your fingers,” Ms Turcotte said of her family’s attitudes towards their new found fortune.Don’t miss any opportunity to become a lottery winner and play online with us at Lottery24.com.
