Swift Decision Made on How to Spend £250,000 Postcode Lottery Win

Tim and Rebecca Seaton from Trentham in Staffordshire, England have won a £250,000 Postcode Lottery prize. It took Rebecca just seconds to decide on their first major purchase..

It was her husband Tim who was presented with the fantastic cheque. While that great moment was happening, his wife was already on a holiday app booking their flight.

It’s not going to be a cheap holiday either. The mother-of-two says: “We’ll go to Tenerife and maybe go up a few stars on the hotel.”

Plans for their winnings include downsizing to a bungalow and buying another Ford Capri. He commented: “It's not the best car in the world, but it’s beautiful and the most sexy." His wife doesn’t share that opinion though but he’s determined to get one.

The retired joiner has only been playing the draw for seven months. His previous best win had been just £12. He started playing the Postcode Lottery for a couple of reasons.

One was “maybe to win some money.” The other was because of the fact donations are made to charities.  A Nottinghamshire player won £111,111 with his first Postcode Lottery ticket.

Rebecca will also be given some treats by her husband which makes a change. Amazingly, he confessed to having never bought her a present for 30 years, not even for birthdays or Christmas.

Asked why, again the Postcode Lottery winner had a couple of reasons:  “I always get it wrong, and I'm asked if I still have the receipt. Secondly, she gets what she wants when she wants."

His wife corrected him by saying he did actually buy her something once. That was a Jason Donovan video!  It seems a new hoover is on its way for Rebecca though. Will she be delighted?

More seriously though, Rebecca said: “But do you know something? I don't want anything. What I want, you can't buy; my mum back."  A $50,000 Powerball winner had the same feelings  after his success.
