Tears Aplenty for $20 million Oz Lotto Winners

Tears aplenty flowed when a couple from Goulburn in New South Wales, Australia found out they had won $20 million in the August 2 Oz Lotto draw.

Their ticket was the only division one winning entry. In all, they won $20,034,030.85. The news of their Oz Lotto win was a massive surprise for the couple. When chatting to lottery officials the morning after the draw, the winning husband said “I’m in tears mate!”

He added: “Every time I think I’m okay, the waterworks kick off again! I don’t even know what to do with myself.”
 

Retirement is beckoning

When such a high amount is won, the thought of giving up work enters your head. That’s the case here: “Retirement is beckoning. I’m not sure if we’ll actually make it back into work at this rate. We might just run away!” said the delighted husband.

He recalled the moment that their Oz Lotto win was discovered. He’d gone to his local store to check their ticket and wondered why the staff were giving him “a shocked look.” Then he was told that he might want to sit down and was told his ticket had won the $20 million Oz Lotto jackpot.
 

Battlers no more

The couple can’t wait to tell the rest of their family about their win. “I’ll set everyone up and make sure they don’t have to worry about anything,” said the generous Oz Lotto winner. The win will change their life though. “We’ve always been Aussie battlers. Not anymore, though, I guess!” he added.

Their winning ticket was purchased from the First Inland City Newsagency, Shop B, 140-144 Auburn Street, Goulburn. It's owned by Jeanine Chatfield who is delighted to see a local Oz Lotto win. “I’m pretty sure everyone in town will be talking about it today. It will cause big excitement in the community,” said the shop owner.

It seems the Newsagency is a lucky place to buy tickets. They have already sold two first prize winning tickets in the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw this year.
