Trio of EuroMillions Tickets Strike Gold with €144.5 Million Jackpot Win

On an otherwise ordinary Tuesday night, the world of EuroMillions was set ablaze with excitement as an extraordinary event unfolded. In an unusual twist of fate, not one, but three winning tickets emerged from the draw, each laying claim to a substantial share of the colossal €144.5 million jackpot. Each ticket holder became richer by a staggering €48.1 million.
The Winning Trio and Their Lucky Numbers
Two out of the three golden tickets were discovered in the United Kingdom. With the jackpot converted to pounds sterling, the total prize was worth £125.5 million, translating to a whopping £41.8 million for each winner in the UK. The third stroke of luck happened across the English Channel, in France, with a ticket purchased from 'Française des Jeux' (FDJ), the national lottery operator there. This made them France's most fortunate lottery participant of 2026 so far.
The winning numbers that led to this monumental win on Tuesday 21/04 were 13-16-29-40-47, coupled with 3-4 as the Lucky Star numbers. The French winner is expected to claim their prize within a 60-day window, while their counterparts in the UK have up to 180 days to stake their claim.
A Rare Hat-Trick
What makes this particular jackpot truly remarkable isn't its size – while undeniably large, it doesn't shatter any records – but rather its distribution among three winners. This is an event that hasn't occurred since May 2023, marking it as a rarity in the annals of EuroMillions history. Without the total ticket sales for the draw, it's impossible to determine the exact odds of such an event happening. However, the odds of any single number combination securing the jackpot stand at 1 in 139,838,160.
A Potential Global Win?
Interestingly, the winning French ticket might not have been purchased on European soil. Unlike other countries that have overseas territories, France allows participation in EuroMillions from its overseas regions like Réunion, French Guiana, New Caledonia and ten others – collectively known as DOM-TOM. We can only confirm whether this was indeed a global win once the prize is claimed.
What Lies Ahead for EuroMillions Enthusiasts?
With the jackpot claimed, the top prize for EuroMillions has reset to €17 million (around £14 million). The grand prize will continue to grow with each successive draw where it remains unclaimed, based on that particular draw's ticket sales.
