What a Week for Lottery Players
It’s already been a memorable week for lottery players. There has been two massive wins in the Powerball and Lotto Max draws. Now more great wins could be had in tonight’s EuroMillions draw. That’s followed by a must be won Lotto draw on Saturday. What a week!
Massive jackpots in USA and Canada
This amazing week began on Monday when a ticket sold in California, USA, won a $699.8 million lottery jackpot. It was the fifth highest Powerball win and the first to be won in a Monday draw.
In Canada, a $70 million jackpot was won in the Lotto Max on Tuesday. The winning ticket was sold in Burnaby and it’s the largest Lotto Max jackpot won by a player in the state of British Columbia. The same night, the EuroMillions draw produced a rollover.
The exciting week for lottery players continued on Wednesday evening. No tickets were able to win the £9m Lotto draw. That means that on Saturday 9 October, there will be a £11.6 million must be won draw. If the top prize isn’t won, the cash will roll down to the other levels, so even just matching three numbers could possibly win you £100.
Thursday was a relatively quiet night. No tickets could match the numbers drawn in Italy’s SuperEnalotto draw. The jackpot was €91.3 million and will be €92.4 million in Saturday’s draw.
Time for records to be broken?
Now to Friday night and a possible record breaking EuroMillions draw. There is a €202 million jackpot this evening. That’s £174 million and if it is won by a ticket sold in the UK, a record will be broken. It would beat the current UK highest win of £170.2 million won two years ago.
More records could be on the way though. The highest ever EuroMillions win is €210 million in February of this year. Under the new rules for this lottery, the new jackpot cap is €220 million, and that figure will be reached next week if no jackpot is won this evening. All of which makes for an exciting end to an amazing week for lottery players.
