$20 million Australian Powerball Ticket Kept on Fridge Door
A couple from Brighton in Victoria, Australia had no idea they had won $20 million playing Australian Powerball. Then they found the winning ticket on their fridge door.
The lucky players have asked to remain anonymous but we do know they are grandparents. Their fantastic win came in the September 4 Australian Powerball draw. Their ticket wasn’t registered, so lottery officials had no idea who had become multi-millionaires.
The female half of the winning couple described their Australian Powerball win as “ubelievable.” She added: “We had no idea, and this whole time the ticket was just sitting on our fridge.
Really busy
The Australian Powerball winner explained that they had both been “really busy” so “just forgot to check” their ticket.
A man from New South Wales also kept his winning Australian Powerball ticket on his fridge and that won him $30 million.
Even though they had purchased a Quick Pick ticket, the delighted player said that her lucky number and some family birthdays and anniversaries were among the selection. “It was meant to be,” she declared.
Little house
Plans for their Australian Powerball windfall include looking after their children and grandchildren. They plan on buying a “little house” for themselves thanks to their big win. She added that it will “take time for this to sink in.”
The couple have been buying tickets “on and off for years,” said the delighted winner. One big decision is yet to be made though. “Heck! I don’t know if I should keep working or retire.” A couple from Western Australia continued working despite winning $30 million playing Australian Powerball.
The winning ticket was bought from the East Brighton Newsagency. Its owner Sajjad Sadeghi Goorbandi. is delighted about selling the $20 million winning ticket.
“I can’t believe it! This is the best news!” he said. The owner added that it was the first division one winning ticket he’d sold since he took over running the shop two years ago. “I’m so happy. I’m going to call my colleagues now and tell them the great news, he said.
