$30 million Australian Powerball Winners Won’t Quit Their Jobs

The April 17 Australian Powerball draw created three new multi-millionaires. A trio of friends from the eastern suburbs of Perth will share the $30 million jackpot but have said they won’t be quitting their jobs.

For nine years, the three friends have been buying lottery tickets together. Now their luck has finally come in and the Western Australia residents have won this Australian Powerball jackpot.

The lucky player who took their tickets to be checked  has been talking about their win. She  had no idea that there had been a local jackpot win.  A $40 million Australian Powerball winner went a week before finding out about their win.

Completely baffled

“The retailer quietly took me to one side,” she recalled.  “There was a huge queue with everybody getting organised for Easter, and I wondered what on earth he was doing.” When he told her that the ticket had won the $30 million jackpot, she admitted to being “completely baffled.”

His advice to her was to go home, take a few deep breaths and “enjoy the moment.” Her two friends were told the incredible news. Even though they had family events to attend over Easter, they didn’t tell anyone else what had happened.

That wasn’t easy though and the Australian Powerball winner said she “could barely think straight” when talking to her family. Last November another  Western Australia syndicate also won a $30 million Australian Powerball jackpot.

A big steak dinner is being planned by the lucky winners.  Plans for their winnings include more family holidays and “making memories for the kids.” Despite being multi-millionaires though, the trio are going to “keep working for now.”

Stay active

A three-day week is their plan with early retirement eventually being taken. The Australian Powerball winner added: “We want to stay active and we like our work.”

Their winning ticket was purchased from the Village News in High Wycombe. It’s owned by Jimmy  Wang who said when being told his store had sold the winning ticket, he wondered who’d  won but the winners have remained anonymous.
